Security is crucial for every business. After all, how can you make profits if you can’t protect your assets? These days, Video Surveillance systems have become more intelligent and effective than ever before. The cameras now offer features like Motion Detection, No Motion, Intrusion Detection, Trip Wire, People Counting as well as Loitering Detection with automatic notifications. The recent technological development has led to more efficient ways of managing storage and recording.

IVA (Intelligent Video Analytics) is one such digital video analysis technology integrated with the analytics software. This works by performing different kinds of analytics on the digital video and notifying in case of any suspicious event in real-time. This can also eventually reduce the need of manned security for any premises.
These kinds of analytics are normally present in the high-end cameras for providing exceptional security. Matrix has taken a step forward to incorporate these analytics in its standard as well as premium series at an affordable rate.

Looking at the present day scenario, IVA has become a standard feature for all Network Cameras. Keeping that in mind, Matrix has incorporated all the major analytics in its cameras as well as its NVRs.

Motion Detection:
Motion detection detects any kind of unwanted motion in a protected area to avoid loss of valuables. It can be used to preserve privacy of the company by notifying any movement in the protected area.

No Motion Detection:
No Motion Detection detects any hindrance in motion during working hours.
Example: Pause in the movement of products on the conveyor built can mean loss of productivity, which needs to be notified. In such cases no motion analytics is used.

Trip Wire:
We see people throwing objects or climbing walls to enter buildings and cause harm. Trip Wire identifies any motion over a defined virtual line and sends notification for the same. It is mostly used in perimeter security and can protect a large area.

Intrusion Detection:
Using Intrusion Detection, virtual box around the dangerous or highly secure areas are created, and a notification is sent whenever an unusual activity is detected. This helps in providing safety as well as retaining the secrecy of the company.

People Counting:
People Counting, as the name suggests, works by overhead counting of people crossing a virtual line or entering a certain area. The direction in which the person crosses that line, determines entry or exit of the person, reflecting it in the count.

Loitering Detection:
Another very important analytics is Loitering Detection. Loitering is an act of continuously moving in a particular place for a protracted time without any purpose or aim.

Loitering Detection was created to meet law enforcers’ demand of scouting suspicious behavior before the crime and report the same.

Let’s see what this really means:
Before any disrupting activity occurs, there is always forethought behind it. This can involve inspecting the premise they plan to harm, gathering information about its security and many such activities. If only we can detect their suspicious behavior before, we can protect our premises from any mishap.

The question is how to identify a perpetrator before the event?
For that we need to continuously monitor the activities around our premises and identify the difference between normal and suspicious loitering. This can be done by setting the minimum loitering time as per the scenario. It can vary from from 3s to 300s. Any object loitering in the selected area such as parking lot, ATM or anywhere around the premises over the minimum loitering time will trigger the alarm.

Loitering Detection can also be used inside the premises to sustain the security and secrecy of the company. To get notified when someone loiters for more than a defined amount of time can save a lot of productive time and maintain discipline in the premises.

With all these advanced monitoring capabilities, Intelligent Video Analytics has a wider application ranging from perimeter security of airports to border security as well as government buildings security. It can track down objects even in extreme weather conditions. This also plays a vital role in public safety and work towards smarter cities.

These analytics provide notifications like:
Video pop-up: It gives a pop-up on the timeline at the time when any unusual activity has occurred. This can eliminate wasting time on watching the entire recording to see the event.

SMS: Notification can also be sent through a normal SMS or a call on your mobile device.

E-Mail with Snapshot: This is very useful to differentiate between true and false alarm as it takes a snapshot of the scene and sends it through email.

Alarm: This involves a siren, which is a very common way for notifying a mishap.

Conclusion:
To smartly monitor premises, Matrix Provides a wide range of Cameras and NVRs that support Intelligent Video Analytics and enhance security and safety of the company. Furthermore, its application can be customized according the end user’s requirements.
