Runes are an alphabet of Germanic tribes that inhabited Scandinavia and surrounding lands early in the era and later settled across much of Europe. According to the most popular version, runes lead origin from the language of Etrusks. They are sharp, angular shaped icons that have been carved on wood, bone or stone. In addition, many round gold plates — brackets — were found with runic inscriptions carved on them.
