On (Not) Being Believed

For those of us that have mental illness, there is only the struggle and the stigma. If we make it through a day then good on us, right? Thank you for the piece. Telling stories is how things become known, how stigma is destroyed. We are folded into our “box” of society and expected to thrive. Well, the box is not for everyone and forming ourselves to conform to it is what destroys our minds. There is a reason most mental illness makes itself known when we are in our late teens and early twenties. It’s when we are expected to join society as an individual. Emancipated from our parents we are now supposed to fit into the box. Not all of us fit so well. So, take your life and live it however you must. Survival is only important until it’s not. Great story and great writing. Well done. Keep it up for as long as you want. Love .
