DoorDash Wants to Own the Last Mile
Steven Levy

I am a Dasher and the numbers doesn’t add up. For DoorDash contractors that relies in this as a fulltime source of income (and I know many), we are still responsible for gas, milage depreciation, vehicle maintenance (for those using cars), state and federal taxes, sdi, and state unemployment dues. Yes it is possible to break $27/hr on busy time s on busy locations, but after all the expenses has been accounted for the actual take-home rate us closer to $11-$12/hr.

Recently, I have seen many Dasher quit as the current incentive program (or lack thereof) has made it less attractive to go out on deliveries.
