In Lowly Old Venezuela Nothing Ever Goes Right

Halfway through this story I highlighted (and added a note) related to 4 things people generally take for granted in other parts of the world but that here in semi-communist poor ol’ Venezuela you just can’t count on anymore.

  • Appointments are hardly ever kept. People either show up late or not at all.
  • Cars work but once they break down the cost of fixing them forces many to simply leave them parked at home until better economic times come (never?).
  • The lights come on? I wouldn’t bet on it.
  • There’s plenty of toilet paper? Now that’s plain mean of you to make such a statement, just like that.

So yeah, I guess here in Venezuela we can go ahead and worry all we want about how everything will eventually go horribly, horribly wrong.

A single golf clap? Or a long standing ovation?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
