Sasha Stone, I completely agree with you. I am utterly dismayed that this country is about to elect a man that white supremacists think of as a great leader that will led the white race back into its “glorious” role as oppressors of all non white people in this country. A man that makes my immigrant students cry in fear and hurt, because the country they now call home is violently and openly rejecting them. A man that might bomb other countries with nukes, a man that will destroy any environmental protections us progressives have fought to put in place, which will utterly decimate our planet. A man who is a blatant racist and bigot, and who incites hate in his followers, a man who will destroy the economy for working people and who will enrich his billionaire and millionaire cronies, and himself. We are about to elect him into office because we are a country with a slightly equal balance between hate filled racists and good willed people who oppose them and will do what is right to try and ensure that they don’t win. And then, there is a small minority of so called “progressives” who know the consequences of their decision to vote for Stein, but don’t care, because, well, hell I don’t know, their ego is bruised, they want to be see as radicals who think they have so much to say, who know everything about “Shillary” that we are all too blind to see, they love to think of themselves as purists, so clean and pure. Well, when Trump is elected and they come for my undocumented students, I am going to blame them and the media for the election results. Because their little small minority is just what is going to tip the balance in favor of Trump. I love what you said, “ I believe self expression should be reserved for poetry, think pieces, and water color paintings. Your vote should be used to protect those who cannot protect themselves. A vote only matters if it produces a result. A vote in an election should be as part of a union, a democracy that is not about the individual.” Brilliantly said!
