Going by TRAI’s report, as on June 2015 India had 319.35 Million Internet users which is now a 9 month old data. IAMAI numbers were for 2016. Even if we consider the entire population of India to be internet users (including new born babies), I don’t see how it scales up to 1 billion unconnected users. It fits the rhetoric though.

If IAMAI’s figures are less reliable because they are a trade organisation, how reliable are the figures quoted by FB ?

This act of looking away from absolute figures when it is convenient and quoting figures when it fits the bill puzzles me.
