Bullet’s Reason That Makes Him Look No Match With Roger’s Pirate Crew

Douglas Bullet is an original character for One Piece Stampede. There, he is said to be a former member of Roger ‘s group . A figure so feared that he was said to be stronger than Rayleigh .

While things like Laugh Tale’s name on Stampede are official, Bullet himself is currently not canon. During Oden ‘s flashback , there was no Bullet in Roger ‘s group .

Come to think of it, Bullet doesn’t really fit into Roger ‘s group . This is the reason!

1. Nature

Bullet is a serious loner.

The nature of this Bullet as a whole feels unsuitable when compared to the rest of Roger ‘s crew .

You see, Roger ‘s group if we look at Oden ‘s flashback is a group similar to Shanks and Luffy . A group that tends to be cheerful and can party suddenly when there is a big incident.

Even tough fighters like Scopper Gaban and Rayleigh could at least joke around.

With Bullet ‘s nature , I doubt that Bullet will even laugh when Roger finds Joy Boy’s treasure.

In addition, from what we can see, Bullet doesn’t show his friend’s loyalty to his former comrades.

Rayleigh is still in contact with Shanks . Shanks is still relaxed with Buggy .

But Bullet didn’t even seem to care about Buggy at Stampede.

Whereas Roger ‘s group is the type of group that is closely related to one another. Farewell to Oden alone brought the whole crew to tears.

2. Devil Fruit

In the official story from Oda, only one member of Roger ‘s group is confirmed to have eaten a Devil Fruit: Buggy .

Even that Buggy didn’t want to. He accidentally eats the Coal Fire Fruit because it is startled by Shanks .

Roger ‘s group is currently one of the few pirate groups that eat Devil Fruits.

Because of that, Douglas Bullet actually felt that it didn’t fit the theme of Roger ‘s group since it was announced that he had the Gasha Gasha no Mi Devil Fruit.

3. Bullet’s reaction to Roger’s death

If you see, most of Roger ‘s crew actually accepted the death of their captain.

The most notable reaction was from Kozuki Oden in chapter 969. He was crying, but he was also laughing out of admiration for how Roger lived until the end.

Once Roger died, Bullet went on a rampage until he had to be stopped by the Buster Call led by Sengoku and Garp .

He didn’t seem to understand why his captain had to die.

If only this was the case like Shiki, who was not a member of Roger , it wouldn’t be surprising if Bullet ‘s reaction was like that.

But Bullet should have gone to Laugh Tale, and found out how Roger disbanded his group, and left Oro Jackson.

Of course, the true incident when Roger resigned from his own group had not yet appeared in the manga when Stampede was released. Even then Oden ‘s face was not visible.

4. Is it even more suitable in the Rocks group?

The unique thing is, if you think about it, Douglas Bullet is actually more suitable in the Rocks group than in the Roger group .

The Rocks group is filled with Haoshoku Haki users who don’t like each other, and seem to only work together because Rocks D. Xebec was able to bring them together.

This fits with Bullet ‘s nature , which seems to only acknowledge Roger because Roger was able to beat him.

Whitebeard was even initially reluctant to accept Oden , because he was worried that Oden would become someone who didn’t want to just be a follower. While saying that, Whitebeard also said he knew what happened to a group with such people, referring to Rocks.

The members of the Rocks group are also filled with Devil Fruit users with chaotic morality. Like Kaido, Shiki, and Big Mom.

In fact, if Bullet was a member of Rocks, he could still become a feared legend like himself at Stampede.

However, even when Stampede was released, the Rocks group didn’t seem to have been revealed by Sengoku . Stampede was released in August in Japan, while chapter 957 (where Sengoku explained Rocks) was only released September 30, 2019. So maybe that’s the reason Bullet was made a member of Roger , even though he fits better in Rocks.
