At issue isn’t whether our military is politically correct; it is whether it is the best military force we can get. For example, the standards are watered down in order to let women into our Special Forces. What does a 160-pound SEAL teammate do when he is shot and the only one who is in a position to rescue him is a female who “qualified” by only carrying 80 pounds, half what males must be able to carry? Hell, I qualify for the SEALs by the women’s standards, and I’m 64! Maybe they’ll let me use the lower women’s standards and make me a SEAL, huh? Israel tried deploying mixed-sex military units. They quit that because they found that the men were protective of the women to the point of jeopardizing their missions.

There has to be a uniform level of performance as well as expectations among members of a military unit, and the higher level of unit performance (Seals, Rangers, etc.), the more uniform those performance and expectations must be. There may be one communications expert on a team, but they all have had electronics equipment training in case they lose their expert. It comes down to expectations as well. A SEAL team member has expectations of his teammates to perform as they are trained to perform; they can’t afford to coddle a woman and try to compensate for her shortcomings in strength, speed and agility. It is similar for a tran. Knowing your male SEAL teammate wants to be a woman can cause hesitations and doubts that can cost the entire team their lives. The trans-SEAL who recently spoke up and called Trump out was NOT known as a tran while he served in the SEALs, and I guarantee his team would have bounced him out if he were dressing up like a woman after hours. There is an esprit de corps and closeness to each other that is lost if one team member insists on being different from all the others. That closeness is vital for the highest performance of a team, and is lost when a tran insists on being both different AND accepted by the team.
