While I agree that there is a great need for more affordable housing in the area, the flip side is added traffic is making the area unbearable to travel around. There is no longer commute hours but rather only a few hours a day that there are no clogged roads. If you look at the situation with Mountain View and Los Altos. Mountain View has added housing but the main thoroughfare for Los Altos has become dangerous for students and others at crosswalks. Without a strong regional plan from a commission with teeth, all future development will only hurt the overall community. The plan needs to manage transit, housing, and commercial development.
