Project Overview

Our team started this project after discussing the challenges that the year 2020 has brought to mental health. Noticing that we have experienced increased stress levels and also seen an increase in services reaching out to help with mental health, we started with a hypothesis that COVID-19 has increased both the demand and availability of mental health services.

Why redesign Brooklyn Brainery’s website?

Brooklyn Brainery offers affordable educational classes covering a wide range of topics and skill levels, and emphasizes connection to their community and users.

We wanted to redesign the website to feel as connected and approachable as the business does.

Over two rounds of research and testing, we considered how the navigation could be redesigned in order to improve the usability of the website, and tested our proposed changes.

Project Overview

Our objective was to interview people age 65 and older about their experiences and thoughts using video-conferencing applications. We had five interview subjects, and conducted 15-minute interviews for each person. Before starting interviews, our three-person team collaborated on crafting a discussion guide, interview questions, and a hypothesis for the start of our research. We identified assumptions about our subjects that we would then test and validate or invalidate through our research.
