I wouldn’t necessarily compare Railscasts and Laracasts. For one thing, Railscasts is no longer being actively maintained — it had a good long run but I think the author moved on to other projects about a few years ago. Additionally, I believe that Laracasts is for beginners with Laravel, correct? Railscasts, and its successors like DriftingRuby and GoRails, tend to assume that you are more at the intermediate level of experience with Rails. If you’re looking for beginner resources, then most people, including myself, will still point you to Hartl’s online tutorial.
