Any decline in centrism or increase in polarization is due to the left becoming constantly more extreme, while attempting to proclaim itself the new normal. Once the left is utterly discredited and obliterated, the only two legitimate political ideologies for a limited government, namely conservatism and libertarianism, can fight it out.
