Absolutely agree. I think that since the Mac predates the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple TV, it makes sense that they haven’t put as much effort into maintaining it. That isn’t an excuse for continuing down the path of loneliness OS X has beaten for itself, though. Instead of trying to make things work with OS X, Apple should be updating OS X to work with everything else and align with current trends and uses. Macs are shiny and new, so OS X should be too. Curiosity question, though: how do you think people will handle the shift to OS XI? Doesn’t roll off the tongue as well. They might be forced to say OS eleven. :)
