Senryu / Haiku Project — 365 was born because I wanted to dive into simplicity.
The subtle nature of each statement in Senryu and Haiku allows the reader to attach their personal experiences, memories, and feelings to the few words in their unique way resulting in no clear-cut, right, or wrong interpretation.
I am insatiably drawn to Senryu and Haiku because it has a remarkable way of leaving much to the imagination and interpretation of the reader.
The way that these short forms of poetry are dedicated to communicating vast concepts, feelings, and ideas stimulates mental capacities and can lead to reflective thought.
Where in seventeen syllables you encounter centuries of strife or the seasons of the year in their naked forms in this tightly confined space, you can reflect upon the subtle phrases pointing to the larger more powerful meanings and undertones.
All the Senryu / Haiku that have come about during Project — 365 are originally inspired and genuinely meant to help you eliminate the clutter and see clearly.

Extremely Simplified Definition of Senryu:
Three lines :
- First line 5 syllables
- Second line 7 syllables
- Third line 5 syllables
Senryu does not traditionally include a “Cutting” word or a “Season” word.
Subject Matter :
- Human, societal, or incidental witty rendition
- Comedic, humorous, or cynical

Cutting word :
