To create a butterfly chart we need 2 measures and one dimension.
So i am considering the average of two measures in columns and one dimension in rows. A filter on state field is already added in my worksheets.
Then a zero axis is created using calculation fields.
Then the zero axis is added to the columns as shown below.
Later the axis of the avg.child entity count is changed
And reversed is selected.
Then the tick marks are selected to none.
And then the dimension is added to the label of the zero axis and we can observe the changes in the worksheet.
Then we can see the butterfly chart below :
To avoid the lines that are visible in the zero axis i can change the shape in zero axis to text.
Then we can unselect the show header from the dimension.
Later the labels can be added to the measures.
By following the above steps butterfly chart can be created in tableau.
