Agree that autonomous long haul trucking is a huge market. I didn’t talk about it because my area of expertise is in cities. I can’t speak to the economics, job displacement (won’t deliver trucks still need someone to unload/load)? So I left this out. The article is long enough.
Re maintenance: yes and no. 1. EVs require much less frequent maintenance than combustion engine vehicles. 2. Remember that today 3/4 of the vehicle miles traveled are in cars alone. If that same mile travelled (wear and tear) now moves more people, more travel for less Maintenance
