Major #recruitfail examples here. If a company can’t prioritize interviews and candidate experience over everything else, why are they hiring? I bet their CEO would be pissed if he knew hard-to-find ENG candidates were being treated like lab rats without food, water, or (it sounds like) pleasant-slash-normal human interaction.
