Career, opportunities, profession have all been taken on for a ride for a while now. Companies nowadays have become so business-centric that they comfortably blunder on the case of harming one’s career graph. Call it a wrong hiring decision or management flaw but the prevailing impression say it all. An Human resource professional is doing testing, a Business Development professional is doing cold calling for an event, a Payroll person is made to sit at client’s side to work on the business model, a Back-end person is expected to build applications. The question is not about ‘who can/should do what’ but about ‘who is meant to do what’. KRA’s of roles assigned to organisations is losing its implications.

Aren’t we confusing the rationale of being a multitasking personal? Getting a hands-on in different forte is one thing but fitting a triangle in a rectangle space makes no right impression.

Well, this problem has one more side to it - the aspirant’s end who pursuit an erroneous decision and opportunity. Getting a job is an economic need above career requirement for a major lot. Individual’s, especially freshers miss on the critical facet to it, expecting to explore their field and learn new attributes, they fall into a wrong career. Here comes another question as a consequence of wrong hiring decision — how can an engineer, applying for a software engineer job, predict he/she will be made to do quality tester job. This is as worse as a Ph.D. scholar working as a Support Admin for an institute. This is just one illustration, we have many more such instances.

And quitting a job is not an easy way for everyone !!

Who decides in an organisation that who will do what? What educational background required for which domain? Looking at the current trend we are majorly following a wrong definition of ‘you be your boss’ fashion where one is happily becoming slaves of their own wrong career choice. At the end most of the organisations are running with an aim of generating revenues at the cost of employee’s professional growth. Such companies will never be concerned for its employee’s aims and aspirations for a career.

Yes, we can not miss onto the fact that few companies are setting an offbeat movement nowadays of backing its employees framing an upscale career by providing the finest opportunities. Although the ocean is big and such treasures are minute.
