I am SO glad you bought a new mattress, and that is because prior to reading this I had no idea low-profile boxsprings/foundations existed. I just bought a headboard from 1962 and guess what? Mid-century mattress sets were much thinner than the ones now, so half my headboard is covered up by the mattress. So I need to replace my 9 inch box spring with a 4 inch. Before your mattress adventure I would not have known such a thing was possible!

Too bad I’m like 2000 miles away or I’d take it off your hands.
