Alright, so if you’re reading this, even if you aren’t into comics, you probably have a vague sense of who Alan Moore is.

The Pride of Northampton. The famed Snake Puppet worshipping Vegetarian Wizard. And of course, the Orson Welles of Comics. Writer of Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Swamp Thing, Miracleman, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. He’s responsible for the official 616 designation of the Marvel Universe. Kind of a big deal.

Of course, along with these giants of the medium, Moore has done works that are not as well as known, or as well beloved. There’s his riff on National Lampoon’s OC and Stuggs, DR and Quinch. There’s his riff on ET, Skizz. There’s his very brutal takedown of the CIA, Brought to Light.

So many others, really, and because of his status as the great comic writer, a lot of it is reprinted or at least available in some way or means.

This series is not one of those.

In 1988, Moore had decided to finally leave his publisher DC. Whilst his series like Swamp Thing, V for Vendetta, and especially Watchmen had achieved widespread acclaim (and more importantly for DC, sales) both within and without the world of comics…
