Why is there such a stigma about discussing money?

This article is pretty great about answering this question! I love this series.

I think that maybe with friends you want to discuss money with, a casual opening like “ugh, does everyone have problems scraping up enough money to pay the CC bill?” might invite people to commiserate. Hopefully you can find someone in a similar position.

But people are reticent for different reasons. I don’t want to come across like Genie (I’m probably much worse than Genie) so I generally tread very carefully for fear of making someone feel bad.

And unfortunately, sometimes they’ll feel bad no matter what, just by knowing that someone else is having an easier time, even if they do realize it’s not rational.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
