How We Changed the Facebook Friends Icon
Caitlin Winner

“The woman was in the shadow of the man.”

The other way around is fine, though.
I stopped taking this seriously at that point. Whatever.

I never noticed that the notification icon represent the part of Earth I'm on. I'm used to the fact that the “ball” represents notifications. Nothing else. As well as I'm used to the fact that silhouettes represent people, not male dominance. Well, whatever, again.

By the way, the woman in your icon is smaller than the man. That's unequality right there. Why should the woman be smaller? Gender stereotypes, damnit.
