MARKT MUSIC PODCAST- SUMMER SERIES

We live in a world that lives and breathes diversity, and special talents are born from today’s constant intercultural exchange. We live in a country which fosters, encourages, and appreciates that unique talent which has been emulated in its own style and shines bright in The Netherlands today. The care of this exchange and growth of artistic competencies surpasses limits when talent is met with talent, and this is what we want to capture as a club in Amsterdam.
To tap into this running theory, we’ve launched a special podcast series that highlights local artists and creates a hub where talent can meet talent. Musical up-and-comings have been invited to present their sound, reach listeners on a wider scale, and allow YOU to carry De Marktkantine in your pocket all year long. This podcast aims to journey through the several genres of electronic music, and showcase a special sound that has won many over. Alongside, creative local illustrator, Joska van Oosten, has teamed up to translate sound through drawings; with this artistic duo- ‘Markt Music Podcast’

‘Aint no party like Tim Hoeben party!’ A familiar face and name around the Amsterdam area, Tim has made his name known with his disco and house funky hit-heavy unique selections and never-to-disappoint consistent sets. His selections are carefully crafted and unique with each transition.
Not only a DJ but also the creator of the party concept ’33/45’, which was formally hosted at Studio 80, has allowed Tim to invite his favorite artists from around the world and give Amsterdam another quality party night with guaranteed ‘next-day’ stories to tell (or not). With a former residency at Trouw and Studio 80, he continues to find a home at Disco Dolly and is often to be found at various summer festivals. Next one up? You can catch him bouncing around behind the decks August 6 at ‘Solar Festival’ in Roermond and ‘Our Love’ in Amsterdam.
Thank you Tim for yet another excuse to turn our speakers up loud and put a set on repeat. Cheers!

Jannis Jansen, artist name- Aurelius, has been making waves in the Amsterdam music scene over the last few years with his consistent deliveries of classic pumping House sets. As a former ‘Studio 80’ resident, frequent Red Light Radio host, and regular ‘Tomorrow is Now, Kid!’ lineup artist… Aurelius is a true Amsterdam DJ that we are more than happy to have included in our new podcast summer series.
His radio show ‘House of Aurelius’, on Red Light Radio, always includes intricate selections of classic Chicago and New York House tunes; his next show can be heard this coming Friday July 9 from 14:00–15:00. He is also busy now with adding the finishing touches to his own productions- We look forward to hearing what he has in store for the future in Amsterdam.
Thank you, Aurelius, for the perfect pre-festival warm-up tune selections that we can enjoy on repeat for the rest of the summer. You can catch him next on 7 August at Strand Oog in Al. Cheers everyone!

Vinyl enthusiast, Rush Hour frequenter, Sassafras resident… Tim Zwerver is an up-and-coming Amsterdam DJ who is making himself known for his great selections traveling through classics and new releases, and for his smooth transitions. Watch out for this one… we mean it, but see for yourself.
You can catch him next weekend 2 July at Manifestival, Ruigoord; or 12 July at Disco Dolly.

Daniel Zuur, found of Zauer Records and also known from his alias ‘Kraut’, needs little introduction for many. Daniel has been around a time or two and has made his presence known with his deep, melodic house sound, and own creative compositions. He’s kicking off our podcast series with an hour-long special set that was made with De Marktkantine and summer in mind. Last weekend he played at the ever-last production of Amsterdam’s beloved ‘Shoeless’ at Ruigoord with a live set from Kraut as well, but also can be seen at the up-coming festivals of ‘Welcome to the Future’ and ‘Into the Woods’ later this summer.
Thank you Daniel for a great selection of summer kick-off tracks. Whether you listen to it in Vondel Park, by the Amstel River, or at home in your own garden… enjoy!
