“You don’t get to lie to the American people.”

I’m having some trouble with that statement. To “lie” you have to presesnt information which you know or knew was not true. You’re building up a case that the American mainstream media (msm) knew all along that the “russiagate” information was incorrect. Yet, you haven’t demonstrated that is so.

The msm certainly misled the American people. On the basis of information from a “usually reliable source.” That reliability is a whole different question that needs to be addressed.

My question is whether you have interviewed any of the signatories to the “Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity” (vips) document? What did they say? How did you follow up their comments? Do you even know who this “Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity” group is?

I’m certainly prepared to say the msm misled the American people. I believe that happened, and more terrible things have come out of that misleading information. And the msm need to claify the situation, as you said: “You need to either (A) prove that you have not knowingly and/or unknowingly deceived the world, or (B) do everything you can to fix the damage that you have done.” I think it‘s more likely B than A at this point.

As a retired journalist, I’m waiting for more information aboiut the vips document to come out and support this statement. I’m prepared to wait for a long time. I’m prepared to ask of the msm, “What did you take so long to tell us what they knew, and when?” But to call msm action a “lie” is crossing a line which may be putting you article on an indefensible plateau.
