Amy, the idea that non white people can’t be racist only works when racism is defined as structural racism and white people are in a controlling majority.

Chinese people in China are certainly capable of being structurally racist.

South African Black people are capable of being structurally racist.

But let’s be frank. You’re conflating structural racism (a sociology term with limited utility outside of the field of social science) with good old fashioned bigotry, hate speech and just plain SMH at it ignorance. James did a very good job of demonstrating exactly what that ignorance looks like here.

The tone makes the music. James is making a very good point.

You aren’t doing anyone any favours by conflating structural racism with bigotry and then trying to tell us that any group is incapable of bigotry. That’s rubbish.

When it comes to bigotry and hate everyone is capable. If you are going to try and “help” then at least be honest. In the absence of that, then you should be exact in your terminology.
