It makes perfect sense for an artist to say “I won’t get this right if I try, so I’ll take it out.“ Whitewashing is the natural result of the structure of hyper sensitivity that white sociologists have developed for you over the last 4 decades. Sorry to see you hooked on it.
Film makers have to make films. If something makes a narrative too heavy they’ll cut it. Black history is sadly emotionally priced out of the market.
