I can’t lie: I’ve worked with kids of all ages and varieties for about twenty years — spoiled kids, at risk kids, young kids, teenagers, you name it — and in each and every one of the trainings I’ve led for my staffs, I’ve used the “Be nice” speech. I can personally assure you that any and all childcare workers are benefitted by hearing these words:

“I want you to remember, that it’s a job. It’s nothing personal.”

(P.S. I’ve also worked as a bartender and a bouncer, and you would be AMAZED at how well a decade plus of working with children prepares you for these jobs. I’m actually positive Wade Garrett was a kindergarten teacher at some point in his backstory.)
