What I don’t understand with regards to this movie is why it needs to be in the Ocean’s Universe? Will the original (2000s) cast be making any cameos? Whereas with the Ghostbusters movie they have a pre-packaged logo and theme song, the Ocean’s movies do not have any of that. They are, at their core, heist films. So this movie can’t exactly play off that nostalgia. Which leads me to my question, why do they need to attach the Oceans name to the movie? Why can’t they simply make a movie about an all female cast pulling off that one last big heist? I guarantee there would be far less complaints if they did not call it Ocean’s Eight.
