Days 10–12

I’ve been lagging on this, but I’ve started a new week. I realized that the regimen I was following was for an eight week stretch, and since my run isn’t until mid-September, I looked for the one provided by the 5k with the twelve week regimen. This one is pretty interesting, and I decided to start on the third week, because it included strength training in addition to running. This meant that I had to run less, but I opted to run a bit longer for the first one, which would have netted me a good amount less than two miles had I followed their recommendation. I felt pretty proud of myself for being able to push a little harder on that run.

The following days were easier in terms of running. Well, one was a bit harder because I was also walking my family’s dog, Teddy. It was the one day I ran outside, and the little pup didn’t even need to run when I was in jogging mode to keep up with me. I’m slow…I get it. The strength exercises were also more difficult because the dog thought I was playing with him. Having a dog jump on your back while you’re doing a plank does make things slightly more challenging.

The last day, I ran and waited many hours in between before I did my strength exercises. I don’t know if that’s okay, but hey, I still got them in, right?

I’m feeling sick today but that would mean I’d miss out on running for three days. I guess if I run while I’m sick, I just won’t recover. Hm. What to do…I suppose I’ll just see how the day goes.
