A Work In Progress

A work in progress” is a prayer poem written in January of 2008 that represents spiritual growth from vantage point of introspective review of the one praying. Why Prayer Poems? The experience of creating a painting with words is healing and what can be more spiritually healing then doing it for and with one’s Creator. This version of “A Work in Progress” was designed with a series of photos taken in Colorado at the Garden of the Gods in the late part of the summer of 2013. The amazing rock formations and deigns speaks to that of creation and an intelligent designer. While, some will debate I can only speak to what I observed and experience during this Mid-Life Walkabout.

Dear Heavenly Father,

It is me again

Thank you for being my friend

I come tonight

Not because me nor my wife

No friend is sick

No funds I need

No troubles are bothering me

Lord,

It is you

Who brings me to my knees

Because you are constantly

Giving to me

You have called

And at times I have failed

But yet, you have never, ever bailed

Lord,

I want to serve

And obey your Call

I want to glorify you

With my all

I wish to wake

With this mission in mind

Before anything can fog my mortal mind

Lord,

It is you that I want to serve

Not this life

Or my master at work

For you have shown

That you are true

And now

Dear Lord

I want to be like you
