Rob Chubb - How to Make it in Sales

Rob Chubb is looking for his next opportunity in sales after building his education and experience in a business and sales background for years. Chubb earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Auburn University, where he earned a full-ride scholarship for basketball. After he graduated, Chubb played professional basketball for the Giessen 46ers in one of Germany’s professional leagues. When he returned to the United States after his back gave out his first season for the 46ers, he started his career in sales. Here are three essential skills to being successful in a sales setting like Chubb:

  • Match the products to the customer, not the other way around. No matter what you’re selling, you’re under pressure to sell a certain number of items or to reach a certain revenue level with your sales. Rob Chubb always tries to give his customers options that will help them with their specific issues, rather than try to force customers to buy a certain product.
  • Listen. You can’t match your products to your customers’ needs if you don’t know what your customers’ needs are. Rob Chubb learned early on to listen closely to what each customer needs before recommending any products.
  • Treat customers like friends. Many companies preach about their excellent customer service. As a salesperson, you have to exemplify that customer service vision by welcoming customers and treating them as you would your friends.

Rob Chubb has worked in sales for several years and plans to build even more experience on his way to founding his own business one day.
