I love the piece. I also like how while you kept it really specific to coding and being a PM, it actually makes a larger point. There are many fields where one can feel inferior because they lack the “hardcore” skillz that seem to be what everyone is fussing about. It could be financial modeling or big data analysis or brain surgery — point is, one needn’t be a practitioner in order to be literate in the field and able to make sense of it. Sometimes one’s technical inadequacy can prevent one from bringing a different set of translational and managerial skills to bear, which are equally necessary, if not more so, to ensuring that good work is being put to good use.
