Airhop “field”

When you think of management consulting, you think of lots of work, boring people in dark suits, and the occasional dinner to keep spirits up. That’s why my project team and I decided to shake things up and went to a large trampoline park. One thing is for certain: parents watching their children who shared the park with us were utterly confused by our group.

A trampline park is best described a exhibition hall-sized building which contains a lot, well, trampolines. But there were not only the plain old up-and-down trampolines but also other fun activities that included falling. First, there was a basketball court above a trampoline which made my Space Jam dreams come true — think of the final scene where MJ dunks the ball from half field. Second, there was a dodge ball field. And third, there were several Takeshi’s Castle-like challenges.

We split into four groups and competed against each other. First, the was a basketball competition. We scored quite a lot but the highest of the four baskets proved to be quite the challenge. Then, there was a race across the trampolines. We made it through a couple of times without breaking any legs, despite being awefully close. Afterwards, we competed in dodgeball, where we clearly lost. Lastly, we fought against the other team on top of the bars with huge foam bats.

Eventually, we did our best but only came in second. Still, jumping around for an hour is both a lot of fun and extremely exhausting. If you ever want to feel like a child again, go to a trampoline park and exhaust yourself for an hour. It is definitely more fun than going to the gym or running for an hour.
