My boot camp experience

Today is the fifth day of week one, in Andela Nairobi cohort 20 boot camp.

The week has been seriously busy. I have never slept less as I have this week. I have never forgotten to eat, as I have this week. I have never forgotten to reply texts, as I have this week. And yet, this has genuinely been the best week of my life. It is not like I miss any of the things I missed in the process. When you work on something you are genuinely interested in very much, you can’t help working round the clock.

When I sleep, I am very very exhausted. My mind can hardly do anything more. And yet this feeling brings me unsaid joy and happiness. It is incredible how fast I have learned things, simply by giving my all. The things I have achieved by today, I never thought I would do them when we started. I even never thought I would manage to do them on the third day.

Every single day has been an amazing learning experience. I learn from fellow boot campers, from my learning facilitator and other facilitators. I have also visited online forums, most notably stack overflow, hundreds, if not thousands of times. And most importantly after you learn, you get to know if you are practicing what you’ve learned in the correct way, daily feedback.

The experience would have been anything but great without an amazing team to work with. The feedback provided by my learning facilitator has also played a very crucial role. It is what has helped me to grow in the correct direction. I love Andela! TIA
