Your experience just validates why I do not use online dating apps…They just do not work for me. I know plenty of people who love them, but I find them addictive in a Pavlovian way and I feel like I am shopping. I also think you spend far too much time and energy connecting, chatting, talking and building a narrative in your head about someone’s pictures before you ever meet in-person…only to take all but a few seconds to know if you ‘connect’ with them or not.

At 52, I am ‘old school’ and not PC; I approach if want to meet a woman. If the energy is good, then further communication and a proper date usually follows. A ‘cold approach’ day or night continues to serve me well and I do not know why other people do not do it more…Maybe you should try that and get off of dating apps. It is 2019, the year of women. Go to Whole Foods, shop, strike up a conversation with a cute guy looking for gluten-free flour and leave your phone in your pocket.
