I think yours is ultimately a defensible position, but I still think you were hiding the ball in your original post. In an article that talks about vegetarianism pretty disdainfully — is it an accident the veggies responded to your article so negatively ?— you declined to analyze what a vegetarian locavore diet would look like. You did this even though you later admit that a vegetarian locavore would probably be doing better than a simple locavore.

I think your first-hand perspective of farming and obvious dedication to the environment means you could help show a lot of people how to eat even better for the planet. As a striving vegetarian locavore, I hope we can appreciate each other’s strengths and continue to learn from each other.
