QAnon is Scientology for Uneducated People.

Two alternative realities with different target groups but similar dynamics.

In times of crisis, conspiracy theories are thriving as people are searching for simple answers to complex questions. This year we had witnessed the rise of QAnon.

While almost everyone is bashing Donald Trump a group of internet activists has created a narrative praising the president as the savior of the free world. Backed up with a deeply rooted anti-semitic undertone these people accuse liberal elites of being pedophiles and drinking children’s blood.

As educated folks are making fun of QAnon multiple believers are running for Congress in the upcoming elections. Even Trump somehow endorsed the conspiracy theory that is taking the internet by storm.

Social media platforms were trying to ban QAnon related content with not much success. Conservatives took sides with the conspirators and argued with the first amendment against censoring the internet.

These dynamics remind me of another cult with fanatic followers. I am talking about Scientology.
