I realize that this may be a foreign concept to most people, but if I were ever arrested, I would desperately do whatever was necessary to get put IN to solitary confinement to avoid being raped, beaten or stabbed by the other inmates.

Elimination of solitary confinement would dramatically worsen the human rights crisis that already is rampant and ignored in American jails and prisons.

And for the nitpickers… imprisonment takes away civil rights, but not human rights.
