I walk the same one-and-a-half-hour route every day. It goes along the main road from my house, through the park, along a woodland glade, through the play park, and up along the big houses alongside the golf course, before sweeping down along the All England Tennis Club (Wimbledon).

You might think it would become boring and monotonous after a while. But actually, I never tire of it.

Here are five reasons why:

The season change

If I walk the route in winter there are houses adorned with twinkling Christmas lights. One is particularly impressive. A vast reindeer on the roof, trees wrapped in fairy lights, an illuminated sleigh running down the driveway.

The Autumn sparkles with early frosts and adornment of red and russets from the leaves.

The Summer, bright sunlight and dark green hues, children playing in the fountain in the playpark.

The Spring, fresh and lovely, budding trees, blooming flowers.
