FPL — Gameweek 3 Picks
Gameweek 2 passed me by in a flash with a very low scoring average and most ruing the August curse of Harry Kane. Last week saw my picks tally up an above average 49pts on a value of 85m (potentially not possible on 100m budget), so this week I aim to make a 15 man pick at under 100m. Maguire being a great selection last week at 15 points with a clean sheet and goal to his name. It’s time now, with only a few hours before Saturdays deadline to see my picks for Gameweek 3.
Once again I look to David de Gea (5.5m) to be my first choice keeper — United have been completely solid at the back — and although Leicester seem to be scoring freely, I just can’t see them being the team to break the deadlock. On the bench, Wayne Hennessey (4.5m), Swansea have yet to score this season and with the missing Gylfi in mind, its hard to see that starting now.

At the back I have opted for 3 — James Tomkins (4.5m) looks a shoe in for a clean sheet as noted above, Ahmed El-Sayed Hegazi (4.7m) seems keen to continue the Baggies 100% run and Phil Jones (5.0m) will by all accounts start once more in the United backline. All 3 represent fantastic value and should offer great CS returns. The bench is filled with 2 4.5m players who have started brightly Miguel Britos and Christopher Schindler.
My midfield 5have been enabled by a slightly cheaper option up top (more on that shortly) — it starts with 4pricier options. Henrikh Mkhitaryan (8.2m) on the back of 2 double point hauls looks decent value to retain his starting position and potentially wreak havoc against the Foxes. David Silva (8.1m) gets my 2nd spot in the early kickoff against The Cherries. Having only made a brief appearance last week, Michail Antonio (7.5m) looks set to get a full 90 minutes against a leaky Newcastle backline. Owned by only 2.2% of managers, Alexis Sánchez (11.9m) — yes I am an Arsenal fan, but the Chilean returns after injury, hungry and focused, although Liverpool are great going forward, they are terrible at the back — I can’t see anything but greatness from El Niño Maravilla.

My final spot of the 5goes to Watfords stand out star Richarlison de Andrade (6.0m) who has a tasty home fixture against Brighton.
Up top my front 2 are — Romelu Lukaku (11.7m), who will continue to bag goals — he is essential, and he will hurt any FPL managers who choose to differentiate against him and Javier Hernández Balcázar (7.1m) had a great game against Southampton and looks almost certain to bag a goal against Newcastle. My bench spot goes to Steve Mounie (6.1m).
The Breakdown
Team Value: 99.8m
Last Weeks Points: 49 (avg. 44)
