I’ll be honest and say I couldn’t read your entire post — the feels were too big.

Over time you may come to realize that if it wasn’t this thing it would have been some other thing later as the issue here is one of communication.

Be glad this situation arose over something as trivial as work, rather than infidelity, debt, drug abuse or some other modern day ill which would colour your future with your daughter.

Neither party is a mind reader so having got to this point it behooves both of you adults to examine your respective failures to address what appears to be a situation that should never have gotten this out of hand. </sermon>

So now you only have one job.

To be a phenomenally excellent human being, father, friend and supporter.

Give of yourself without expectation of any sort of reward and recognition and you can be truly happy in life. Thinking there’s some sort of bargain to be struck (at any level) and you’ll simply be disappointed.
