Having severed the umbilical cord from cable TV to instead rely on Netflix and the like, I have been spared commercials, so I hadn’t actually seen the commercial until just now.
The other thing is that it is simplistic logic to the point of being childish to claim that regressive viepoints could be resolved with “having a beer”.
Being entitled to an opinion is not the same is being right, and it certainly isn’t entitled to have someone who actually did their homework listen to you!
If, in this day an age, you are still denying climate change, or wanting to deny the even the existence of trans people, or failing to respect the mission of feminism, then you need to bring yourself up to speed. Forget the beer.
As someone who things we should go full speed ahead with progress, I have no interest in someone who is regressive trying to explain their viewpoint over a beer. We’ve been down that road before.
Bring yourself to speed, drop the regressive ideology, be actually interested in progress instead of trying to revert to a backwards, damaging paradigm. Then come back and talk to me.
And if we have a beer, it sure as hell won’t be Heineken!
