The draft lottery has been going on for 32 years and it doesn’t seem to have accomplished its primary purpose, which was to prevent tanking. Maybe it would be better if the commissioner’s office simply decided where each player has to go, or some kind of committee is formed like the one that puts together the NCAA brackets.
