Efficient markets are martingale processes, that is that they are unpredictable, so you should be unable to learn any temporal trading relationship between historical prices and future prices. Markets are not martingale processes when conditioned on OTHER data (such as news reports, or financial documents) — but if you are expecting to predict prices using only price data, you will likely be disappointed.
