What the Internet’s Reaction to Kim Kardashian Getting Robbed Tells Us About Humanity in 2016

I think the trashy responses to Kim Kardashian’s ordeal have to do with a general dislike of where American celebrity culture has gone. People are basically saying that KK has done nothing to earn her fame and wealth. She is the product of corporate marketing to the lowest common denominator. People intrinsically know that that she hasn’t really earned it so that it is taken away is karma. BTW, most of us know not to travel with millions in jewelry. Had something tragic it happened to Bernie Sanders or Jill Stein, few people would be happy about it, because no matter your politics, they are respected. No one respects KK. So in a way, the anonymity of the internet truly exposes what’s in people’s hearts. It not always beautiful.
