What Activision Blizzard Games Should Come To Xbox Game Pass?

--

Hey, look, my second Pro Skater image for a blog in a week. (It’s a great game, what?)

I think we’re just days (hours?) away from the acquisition of Activision Blizzard into the Xbox fold. And with that, speculation has begun as to what games will be added to Xbox Game Pass, as the company previously added nearly every game Bethesda made shortly after they joined the ranks.

Well, with Activision it’s not that simple, if only because there are games that are still selling remarkably well on their own. A number of Call of Duty games have been doing better lately; and even Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice continues to hold strong in sales after years in release.

So, with that, what games should make an impact on Xbox Game Pass? I have a few estimated guesses. And I might see why I’m right.

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy

This is a given. Crash is a staple in gaming, and revisiting his original adventures whenever you want on Xbox Game Pass would be a real treat for some fans. There’s also the distinct possibility that Crash 4: It’s About Time! could show up, though Activision may hold off till a few months down the road, in an effort to give the original Crash trilogy more traction. Eh, why not give ’em the classics?

Spyro the Dragon: Reignited Trilogy

Likewise, this old-school trio of games would also hit the spot for nostalgists and current players alike, allowing those that didn’t experience Spyro’s comeback to do so in rightful order. Besides, with rumors that a new Spyro could be announced at any time (please?), this would definitely get people thrilled again.

Diablo 2: Resurrected

Not quite sure if Diablo III would make the cut yet or not (likely to happen in the future, I would think), but Xbox Game Pass would certainly get a boost from the previous Diablo 2 remaster, which was a fairly big hit with fans. It would open the door to show people where the franchise got their roots, and maybe pick up a few sales for Diablo IV as well. I bet this title makes the day one cut.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 & 2

This will happen. How could it not? Tony Hawk is tremendous for the gaming community, even though the game is a little old; and it plays and looks spectacular. Plus you can get those online leaderboards revved up and re-generate interest in Pro Skater 3 & 4, which I previously talked about in another blog. This one wouldn’t surprise me at all if it made the leap.

Prototype Biohazard Bundle

Yep, another two-pack of insanely good action games, the last ones from Radical Entertainment before they shut their doors. The remasters are considerably well done, and adding them to Xbox Game Pass would increase its value when it comes to single player games. Plus you can cut a dude in half with your hands. With your hands, man!

Geometry Wars Trilogy

Considering that Geometry Wars has been a staple with Activision and Xbox for years now, this one just makes sense. It’s a celebration of the history of the twin-stick shooter, and its capping off with Geometry Wars 3: Dimensons Evolved just makes sense. Plus the leaderboards would pop to life, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

This one is a longshot, but we have seen games like Wo Long wind up in Xbox Game Pass, so…why not? It’s still a terrific From Software game and would open the door for those that didn’t discover it before. Oh, yeah, and there would be many deaths. Just throwing that out there.

Call of Duty

This…is a tough one. That’s because I’m sure, as part of their deal, PlayStation would get some Call of Dutygames for its PlayStation Plus Premium service. But here’s the thing. There’s enough titles to rotate through on Xbox Game Pass and that channel, without any overlap.

I could totally see Xbox getting the likes of Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Advanced Warfare and even the remastered Modern Warfare games on day one, while Sony enjoys releases like Black Ops III and IV, and maybe even the original Modern Warfare for good measure. Then they can be swapped out, while newer titles like Modern Warfare II and III continue to appeal to current players. It’s a win, win, win.

But, yeah, I think Activision will go slow with it at first. Black Ops I and II likely, with some Modern Warfarebefore the holidays. We’ll see.

What titles do you want to see? Feel free to comment! And thanks for checking in!

Have a great week, all!
