Standouts

Admittedly, I was late to the party for a few important books including Bill Gates’s “favorite book of all time!” Enlightenment Now by Steven Pinker, Mindset by Carol S. Dweck, Grit by Angela Duckworth and Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World by Jack Weatherford but if you haven’t read them I recommend you do. New standouts include Lifespan by David Sinclair, Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World by David Epstein (somewhat flying in the face of Anders Ericsson's 10,000 hours but heralded by Malcolm Gladwell when he writes “For reasons I cannot explain, David Epstein manages to make me thoroughly enjoy the experience of being told that everything I thought about something was wrong”), Breaking News: The Remaking of Journalism and Why It Matters Now by Alan Rusbridger, and from one of my favorite authors Ryan Holiday, Stillness is the Key.
