Know what to prototype.

If you are building a technology startup, isn’t it better to prototype and demonstrate the key differentiator that you are building and then seek angel funding to productise and expand market? 🤔

Bob wants to build a social ecommerce #startup which helps users to choose from products that their friends like and recommend. He built a shopping catalog + cart and is now seeking funding to build the team capable of building social recommendation engine.

Alice is attempting the same thing. But she first developed the social recommendation engine prototype and then approached investors to productise it and launch in market.

Assuming both Alice and Bob match on all other parameters that investors consider important, who will finally succeed in getting good investors and money?
