Freshness is not always in many cases a relevant indicator of value. There are tens of situations in which I can benefit more from an article of 5 years ago that has the right info properly laid out, than from an article of one hour ago that is on topic but which is not in-depth and has much fewer references and provides no path to follow.

Maybe the criteria “Evergreeness” and “Depth” can compensate for that, but as a content curator I would be very wary of using freshness as a key indicator of the value of any content.
